Founded in 1972 as a free dental care clinic in Middletown, CT, Community Health Center, Inc. is today a leading independent, non-profit healthcare provider offering comprehensive medical, dental, behavioral healthcare and specialty services to more than 150,000 people across the state.

The National Institute for Medical Assistant Advancement (NIMAA) is a nonprofit education institute accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). NIMAA was founded in 2016 by two leading community health centers to address a critical workforce shortage and help increase education and employment equity. Today, NIMAA proudly collaborates with 60+ clinical partners to provide access to and opportunities for student externships and upskilling.

NIMAA’s 29-week innovative distance-based training program combines online instruction and a community-based externship that begins on day one of the program to create a meaningful and accessible education and career pathway for students, while simultaneously creating a workforce opportunity for health centers. UpSkill NIMAA provides additional learning opportunities through continuing education courses that enhance skills and knowledge among practicing medical assistants. Together, NIMAA and UpSkill NIMAA provide accessible education opportunities to non-traditional students, and prepare them to excel as medical assistants in high-performing, team-based, primary care settings.

ConferMED is a national eConsult provider improving access to specialist expertise for patients while supporting better clinical outcomes and reduced costs.

The Consortium for Advanced Practice Providers (“The Consortium”) is a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) created to advance the model and rigor of postgraduate nurse practitioner and joint nurse practitioner/physician assistant residency and fellowship training programs. The Consortium is a membership, education, advocacy and accreditation organization for postgraduate NP and joint NP/PA postgraduate training programs.

The Consortium aims to increase opportunities for fully credentialed and licensed novice Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to participate in high quality, structured, postgraduate training programs that provide experiential train to high-performance models of clinical care, combined with precepting and mentoring focused on honing the NP/PA’s skills and fostering their professional confidence.

The Consortium also provides programmatic accreditation for these postgraduate training programs, ensuring that the programs adhere to high quality, rigorous standards developed by nurse practitioners, physician assistants and experts in clinical care, adult learning and professional training. In this way, the Consortium is making a significant contribution to the health and healthcare of the public.
